Citizens’ Rights Project and Oficina Precaria have organised an EU Settlement Scheme support clinic to help Spanish-speaking EU citizens living in Edinburgh with their applications. OISC registered advisers will provide the support strictly following Government guidance and advice. Date: Saturday, 28th November Location: Augustine United Church [41 George IV Bridge, Edinburgh EH1 1EL] Time: 10am – 6pm We will prioritise people who have booked an appointment. COVID-19 information on NHS inform channels – how to access for those whose first or preferred language is not English.
People whose first or preferred language is not English can get information about coronavirus (COVID-19) in Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Polish, Romanian, Slovak and Urdu on NHS inform. Spanish and Punjabi translations will be added shortly. All the translations are published here: www.nhsinform.scot/coronavirus – please keep checking for updates. People living in Scotland who don’t have any symptoms but are looking for general information can call the coronavirus helpline. If you’re a non-English speaker you can still use this service. Phone: 0800 028 2816, tell the call handler that you need an interpreter, give the name of your preferred language and you will be connected to Language Line interpreter. You will not have to pay for this.

Education Maintenance Allowance – Young people who are in receipt of EMA and who are unable to meet their agreed attendance requirements due to Coronavirus / Covid-19 will continue to receive their EMA payment as per the existing payment schedule. Young people awarded an EMA after 01/03/20 will be eligible for payments without a signed learning agreement, backdated to the start of lockdown. School allocations for P1 and S1 places in August 2020 – We aim to deal with all late placing requests received up to 03/05/20, including second choice applications, and write to you in the last week of May 2020. Free School Meals / Clothing Grants – applications for 2020/21 for the term starting in August 2020 have not yet opened. We will update our website and put a message on social media as soon as applications open.
